Southwest Harbor's own villages are real, named, and genuinely distinct in character, even within a single small incorporated town. Seawall, reached via Route 102A, is home to Acadia National Park's Seawall Campground and sits near the trailheads for the Wonderland and Ship Harbor trails -- meaning a real piece of Acadia National Park itself lies within Southwest Harbor's own town boundaries through this village, not just through Bar Harbor. Seawall reads as a quieter, more rural, more park-adjacent part of town than the village center or Manset. Slightly north, off Route 102 near the Fernald Point area, the Flying Mountain trailhead is another genuine Acadia access point carrying a Southwest Harbor address, though it sits closer to the town's northern edge toward the Mount Desert line than to Seawall itself.
Wonderland and Pemetic Hills
Wonderland and Pemetic Hills are the town's other Wikipedia-documented named villages/neighborhoods. School Boundaries Are Townwide, Not Village-Specific
Regardless of which of these five villages a property sits in, school assignment does not change: Pemetic Elementary School and Mount Desert Island High School serve the whole town (and, for the high school, the wider MDI region) rather than drawing different village-level attendance zones. A family choosing between the village center, Manset, and Seawall on lifestyle grounds does not need to separately research school-district differences within Southwest Harbor itself, since there is only one town-level assignment.
