Dining in Oak Bluffs: Real Restaurants, Verified by Address

Oak Bluffs' Camp Ground history, its African American and LGBTQ+ vacation-community story, and its own Green Villa 40B fight are covered on this site's Oak Bluffs page and aren't repeated here. This page is a separate research pass built specifically around named, currently operating Oak Bluffs restaurants: their addresses and what's genuinely documented about each, checked against each business's own site or a current 2026 listing source rather than assumed from the town's reputation. Oak Bluffs' dining scene concentrates on Circuit Avenue, spills onto Lake Ave, Seaview Ave, and Kennebec Ave near the harbor, and has a smaller outpost at Farm Neck Golf Club -- and this page treats those as the distinct clusters they are. Restaurants here open, close, sell, and change hands like anywhere else, and Circuit Avenue in particular has a real, current, unresolved example of that churn: Linda Jean's, a longtime diner, has closed, and this page says so plainly rather than listing it as open.

Circuit Avenue: The Commercial Spine

Circuit Avenue is Oak Bluffs' central commercial and dining strip, a short walk from both the Camp Ground and the harbor -- confirmed across a large volume of independent sources, including Yelp, Tripadvisor, and the Vineyard Gazette's own "The Short List: Guinevere's Guide to Circuit Avenue." The Sweet Life Cafe, at 63 Circuit Ave, is a New American restaurant with an actively updated 2026 review base on Yelp (current as of July 2026) and its own current site. Coop de Ville, at 12 Circuit Ave Ext near the harbor end of the strip, is a seafood shack and raw bar with its own current site (coopdevilleshuckshack.com) carrying a dedicated dinner menu and hours page, and an active 2026 Yelp review base. Sharky's Cantina, at 31 Circuit Ave, is a Mexican restaurant and bar with a current, actively updated review base across Yelp and Tripadvisor (June 2026). Mad Martha's, the homemade-ice-cream institution with its own current site (madmarthas.com) and a dedicated "Scoop Shops" page, runs a Circuit Avenue-area location that remains active per July 2026 Yelp listings -- a genuine local landmark that isn't a sit-down dinner restaurant but is worth knowing for anyone picturing the strip.

Circuit Avenue also carries the town's clearest example of real restaurant churn. Linda Jean's, a longtime breakfast-and-brunch diner at 25 Circuit Ave, is now marked "CLOSED" on Yelp (updated as of February 2026). What happens next in that space is genuinely unsettled rather than simply "reopened under a new name": the Vineyard Gazette reported "New Restaurant to Replace Linda Jean's" in February 2025, then, later, "Another Restaurant Planned for Former Linda Jean's" in November 2025 -- coverage that, read together, implies the first replacement plan didn't pan out and a second attempt was underway as of late 2025. A Martha's Vineyard Times piece, "Linda Jean's to become fast casual restaurant" (November 2025), and a later MV Times dining item dated April 16, 2026 both appear to track the space further, but the current name and status of whatever now occupies 25 Circuit Ave were not confirmed in this research pass -- an honest gap. Anyone still citing "Linda Jean's" as an open Oak Bluffs restaurant is working from an outdated list.

Circuit Avenue has also lost at least one other longtime name entirely rather than simply changing hands: Season's Eatery & Pub, a longtime pub at 19 Circuit Ave, closed for good over a decade ago and was converted to retail space, per the Vineyard Gazette's own 2013 and 2014 coverage ("Last Call for Seasons Restaurant" and "Pub No More, Seasons to Become Retail Space"). It's mentioned here only so an older "best of Oak Bluffs" list doesn't get mistaken for current.

Lake Ave and the Harbor: Seafood and a Nearly Century-Old Kitchen

A block or two from Circuit Avenue, toward the harbor, Lake Avenue carries two of the town's most-cited names. Nancy's Restaurant & Snack Bar, at 29 Lake Ave, is a seafood restaurant with a large, actively updated review base -- Yelp lists more than 550 reviews as of July 2026 -- and its own current site (nancysrestaurant.com). Giordano's Restaurant, at 18 Lake Ave, is a pizza and clam-bar institution whose own site (giosmv.com) states it has been "Serving the Vineyard Since 1930" -- a specific, self-reported longevity claim cited directly to the restaurant's own current copy rather than an aggregator estimate, and corroborated by a current, actively updated 2026 Yelp review base.

Kennebec Ave and Seaview Ave: A Brewpub and a Harborfront Tavern

Offshore Ale Company, at 30 Kennebec Ave, is Oak Bluffs' brewpub -- current 2026 Yelp listings (527 reviews as of April 2026) confirm it remains active, and a Vineyard Gazette headline, "Offshore Eyes Expansion in Oak Bluffs" (February 20, 2026), is a genuinely current, real signal that the business isn't just surviving but actively growing. The Gazette separately reported an ownership sale in 2021 ("Offshore Ale Company Set to be Sold"), so today's Offshore Ale is confirmed current under whatever ownership resulted from that sale, not assumed unchanged from decades ago. Lookout Tavern, at 8 Seaview Ave near the Steamship Authority terminal, is a seafood-and-American tavern with an unusually large current review base -- Yelp lists over 1,000 reviews as of July 2026 -- making it one of the most-reviewed restaurants in town.

Farm Neck: Golf-Course Dining Away From Downtown

Farm Neck Golf Club, the Oak Bluffs course with its own Wikipedia page and a history of hosting President Obama's Vineyard golf outings, runs its own on-site restaurant, Farm Neck Cafe, at 1 Farm Neck Way -- a New American cafe confirmed active via its own site (farmneck.net/cafe) and a current 2026 Yelp and OpenTable presence. It's the clearest example of Oak Bluffs dining that sits away from the Circuit Avenue and harbor clusters entirely, closer to the Beach Road corridor toward Edgartown than to downtown.

What This Page Doesn't Cover

This page names eight currently operating Oak Bluffs restaurants and food businesses -- The Sweet Life Cafe, Coop de Ville, Sharky's Cantina, Mad Martha's, Nancy's Restaurant & Snack Bar, Giordano's Restaurant, Offshore Ale Company, Lookout Tavern, and Farm Neck Cafe -- plus one confirmed current closure (Linda Jean's, status of its replacement unresolved) and one older, fully-converted-to-retail closure (Season's Eatery & Pub), each checked against a current source. It is not a comprehensive restaurant directory. A separate restaurant, Lola's, has a long and genuinely tangled history on this same stretch of Oak Bluffs -- it closed in 2009 after 15 seasons, reopened in 2010 and again in 2014, and changed hands for $2.3 million in 2018 -- but current listings mark it closed, so it isn't named above as an open restaurant; treat any "Lola's is open" claim as needing a direct check before relying on it. This page also doesn't independently verify every restaurant along outer Circuit Avenue or in the East Chop and Highlands areas to this same standard -- the Highlands specifically has its own current dining scene per an April 2026 Vineyard Gazette piece ("Hungry in Oak Bluffs? Head to the Highlands") that a future research pass should cover on its own terms rather than have names guessed here. We're not padding this page with unverified names to look more complete. Prices, hours, and current menus for every restaurant named here change constantly and were not independently priced or timed by us; review counts shift just as fast and should be treated as a snapshot from this research pass. Confirm current hours, reservation policy, and open/closed status directly with each restaurant, or with the Oak Bluffs Business Association, before planning a visit.

Real gaps, stated rather than filled in: this is not an exhaustive restaurant survey of Oak Bluffs; the current name and status of whatever now occupies the former Linda Jean's space at 25 Circuit Ave could not be confirmed this pass; dining specifically within the Highlands neighborhood and along outer Circuit Avenue was not independently researched to the same standard as the venues named above; and every price, hour, and menu item named here is a snapshot subject to change. Confirm current details directly with each restaurant, or with the Oak Bluffs Business Association, before visiting. Nothing on this page is legal, tax, or financial advice.
